Hafenbericht Alkmaar

Lage:
Die Liegeplätze des Gemeindehafens von Alkmaar befindet sich an verschiedenen Grachten in der Innenstadt. Bei der Ankunft bespricht man mit der Hafenmeisterin seine Vorstellungen und erhält dann einen Liegeplatz zugewiesen. Man ist nirgendwo weiter als fünf Gehminuten vom Käsemarkt entfernt, der im Sommer jeweils am Freitagmorgen stattfindet. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind viele vorhanden; die Hafenmeisterin gibt eine Broschüre ab, in der unter anderem alle Supermärkte eingezeichnet sind.
Für Hundespaziergänge gibt es eine Auswahl an grossen und kleinen Parks. Ideal ist ein Liegeplatz an der Bierkade oder der ersten Hälfte von Luttik Oudorp, denn dort befindet man sich nahe am Victoriepark.

Anlage:
Es gibt in der Stadt verschiedene Hotspots für das städtische Wifi, die Hafenmeisterin hat auch dafür eine kleine Karte. Trinkwasser erhält man an drei Stellen, siehe Plan der Hafenmeisterin; 100 Liter kosten € 0.50. Elektrizität ist am Steiger gegen Einwurf von € 0.50-Münzen erhältlich; Achtung, die Münzen sind schnell verbraucht. Die sanitären Anlagen, Duschen und Toiletten, befinden sich an verschiedenen Stellen in der Stadt, und sind neu und sehr sauber. Zutritt erhält man durch die Eingabe eines Codes. 4 Minuten Duschen kosten € 0.50. Waschmaschine und Trockner kosten je € 5.00.

Bemerkungen:
Alkmaar ist eine beliebte Destination, die Liegeplätze sind gut gelegen und entsprechnd gut besetzt. Der Hafenbetrieb ist professionell organisiert, das Personal nett und hilfsbereit.


Location:
The most attractive moorings in Alkmaar are along the town's small, quiet canals, like our's on the Luttik Oudorp. You report in at the Bierkade (Beer dock) and talk to a friendly, capable harbor person who gives you all the information you need, including a map of the town, brochures, and supermarket locations, and directs to a canal with available space.
Dogs do all right here: The Luttik Oudorp mooring is a few steps away from a leash-free park, the Victory Park commemorating the successful repulsion of those darned Spanish Habsburgs back in 1579, during the Eighty Years' War. (Aren't we glad wars are so quick and clean now?!) The dogs, in any case, are grateful for the park.

Facilities:
Wifi is not available at the moorings but there are are several hotspots in town for those who like to schlep their notebooks around. Grrr. Water is available in three locations. Fiddy cent per 100 liters. Electricity -- bring plenty of fifty-cent pieces to Alkmaar. These meters are fast! Our bathrooms were new and clean. The showers, too, need fifty-cent pieces and be quick: they only last four minutes. Hurrah: Hot water for shaving at the sinks. Good washer and dryer for laundry. Tokens cost € 5.00 for each.
