Boats we love


Die Kloekhin lag einige Tage mit uns in Gouda. Sie gefällt uns besonders wegen ihren elegant geschwungenen Linien und dem hölzernen Aufbau.

A boat with a distinguished pedigree, the Kloekhin comes from the renowned yacht builders de Fries Lentsch in Amsterdam. Look at that profile. Nice.


Es handelt sich um ein Stahlschiff, gebaut 1959 in der Amsterdamer Werft de Fries Lentsch.

The Kloekhin lay a few boats away from us in Gouda and we admired it every time we passed. Steel body with teak decks and mahogany cabin. Again, the lines are so restrained and so … right.


1960 kam de Fries Lentsch unter den Hammer und musste alle ihre Boote verkaufen. Manche, darunter die Kloekhin, waren noch nicht einmal fertig gebaut … Die Kloekhin wurde von ihren neuen Besitzern vollendet und so zu einem einzigartigen Boot: einer Kombination aus dem eleganten Fries-Lentsch-Stil und der individuellen Vorliebe ihrer Besitzer.

This boat has a history, we learned. When the firm split up, in 1960, it had many unfinished boats in the yard, the Kloekhin among them. The buyer finished it according to his personal taste, which we like a lot.
