Es dauert ja immer eine Weile, bis man sich ein neues Heim zu eigen gemacht hat. In Gouda haben wir die Fussböden im Innern der Plan B aufgefrischt, und hier in Leiden ist das Achterdeck dran. Für unsere 'Terrasse' haben wir bei Leen Bakker, einem eigentlich eher langweiligen Massenmöblierer, Gartenmöbel gekauft.
We had to inhabit Plan B for a while before we could first develop and then execute our ideas for the interior. In Gouda we solved the floor story (a less-is-more solution, with paint instead of carpeting and linoleum). And here in Leiden we've found the answers for the deck. Here, I pose with the garden chairs and table bought from Leen Bakker, a no-brainer big box homeware chain.
Ohne Auto hat man natürlich immer ein Transportproblem, aber in Holland lässt sich das dank gut ausgebauten Velowegen elegant lösen.
Walking this stuff back to the boat drew stares from passersby. No car? Must be a peon. So what?
Wir haben den alten Teppich auf dem Achterdeck ersetzt, die Bank entfernt, und nun sieht das bei uns so aus. Interessanterweise sind sowohl der Teppich als auch die Gartenmöbel von Leen Bakker aus der Kollektion genommen worden; wir haben jeweils die letzten Stücke ergattert. War wohl zu bunt und attraktiv für Leen Bakkers Durchschnittskundschaft, die Plastik zu bevorzugen scheint.
We also dumped the aged blue carpet, replacing this with a Leen Bakker special called Pixel Club. Interestingly, both the furniture and the carpet have been dropped from the collection at LB, which generally favors a dull, inoffensive style.
Die Bank haben wir auf die Brücke gelegt, wo man jetzt mit bester Aussicht ausspannen kann. Sie kann bei Besucherandrang auf der Plan B schnell wieder installiert werden.
We kept the bench, which we can quickly reinstall for entertaining. We moved it to the bridge, which is now a proper reading room and snooze lounge, thanks to Aila's magic touch.
Damit ist die Plan B vorerst eingerichtet; alle sind zufrieden.
