Nach einem feuchtfröhlichen Abend lösen Cleo und Andy heute Morgen in Diemen unsere Leinen. Wir machen uns auf den Weg nach Weesp an der Vecht; die beiden werden in den nächsten Tagen folgen.
We dined on Döner and Felafel and talked into the night, with a drop or two of wine for the appetite. In the morning Andy and Cleo pushed us off from Diemen. They'll be moving our way again in the coming days.

Tight fit for the barge.
... geht es in den Amsterdam-Rheinkanal. Wir überqueren ihn unbeschadet und fahren in die Smal Weesp ein.
We slipped behind this barge and smoothly crossed the busy Amsterdam-Rhine Canal and onto the Smal Weesp, the narrow canal to the River Vecht toward Utrecht. This route always draws murmured superlatives from Dutch boaters. 'Ah, the Vecht,' they say with a glow.
Hier finden wir ein ruhiges Plätzchen mit Strom, Wasser und einem Duschhäuschen gleich nebenan.
We tanked water and tied up at the last of the serviced moorings just outside of town. Purrfect! Electricity -- the first in over a week -- a shower just meters away, tiptop dog lawns just on shore, and the town center just short walk away. We can even see the barges on the big canal, barely, around the bend.
Weesp ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Es ist ein typisch holländisches Städtchen mit einem kleinen, idyllischen Stadtkern ...
Weesp has its character, more 19th century but quite intact.
