Heute sind wir im Sixhaven zum vierten Mal umgezogen, und sind nun hoffentlich endgültig an unserem Winterliegeplatz angekommen.
In our ongoing game of musical chairs berths, today we moved to another slot in the harbor. Of course, much of this action has been due to the ongoing renovation of Sixhaven but today was our choice. We had several reasons to change moorings. For one, we now face into the wind, the preferred orientation for storms, and one is due tomorrow. We're also on a longer pier, which makes tying up more secure and greatly eases dog egress and entry. We also seem to have a stronger network, and we're closer to the water supply, if only by a few meters. All in all, worth the effort.
Der Umzug war nicht ganz unproblematisch, denn es ist gerade sehr windig in Amsterdam, und der Sixhaven ist eng. Trotzdem wollten wir das Ganze heute hinter uns bringen: für die nächsten Tage sind noch stärkere Stürme vorausgesagt ...
Once again, in-harbor maneuvering was a challenge, especially since the wind was acting up. A big storm is due tomorrow with wind speeds up to 60 mph (100 kph). That's why we wanted to get this move done today. We managed to relocate without crushing anything, including our egos. Here, the canines and I relax after a good walk, glad the move is behind us.
Wir liegen jetzt näher beim Hafengebäude und haben daher einen besseren Internetempfang. Am Besten bloggt es sich auf der Brücke, wo frau auch die schönste Aussicht hat.
That's the look of Aila with a decent network. She likes to blog from the bridge because the view up there is so nice.
Neira ist die Aussicht egal. Sie verbringt ihre Zweit gerne indoors, nämlich auf unserem Bett.

Pippo hat sich vor ein paar Tagen bei einer Katzenjagd eine blutige Nase geholt. Schuld war wohl nicht die Katze, sondern wir vermuten, dass er sich beim Rückzug die Nase wundgescheuert hat. Sie ist schon fast wieder verheilt.
Pipperino chased a cat a couple of days ago and came away with a bloody nose. We're not sure if the cat delivered the damage or something on his escape route did. Whatever, it's looking bad but healing well. Has he learned from this experience? Don't bet on it.
Das Wetter ist jetzt richtig herbstlich, und das bedeutet: extrem wechselhaft. Es hat heute mindestens drei Mal geregnet, dazwischen scheint die Sonne, und dann ist es noch schön warm. Das stellt Ansprüche an die Garderobe. Dafür wird man aber mit solchen Augenweiden belohnt.
