Schweren Herzens haben wir gestern unseren Liegeplatz in Driewegsluisen verlassen. Wir wären gerne noch länger an diesem schönen Platz geblieben. Aber wir brauchen Wasser und Elektrizität - unser Inverter (Wechselrichter) scheint dem neuen Kühlschrank doch nicht gewachsen zu sein. Eine Lösung muss her.
It was time to leave our idyllic mooring at the Driewegsluisen (the three-way locks). For one thing, our solar solution needs work. We want to be able to remain off-grid for at least three days and that means we want to power the fridge that long. Not yet there. We think the problem could be the old inverter, the book-sized box that turns 12V direct current stored in the battery and fed by the solar panels, into 220V alternating current for the fridge. Further analysis soon!
Das Wetter ist sommerlich und die Crew guter Laune.
But the morning was summery and the crew was ready to travel.
Die Plan B reiht sich in den Schiffsstau ein. Immer am Freitag nimmt die Verkehrsdichte spürbar zu, vor allem natürlich bei schönem Wetter.
Fridays traffic always picks up and it is summer, after all.
Unser Ziel heute ist De Driesprong in Langelille, ein kleiner Hafen kurz vor der Einfahrt ins Tjeukemeer.
We puttered along to the marina De Driesprong. We'd checked out its facilities and it has what we want: laundry, wifi, etc. (So at this sign we made a left and then a right.)
Manche Leute (vor allem Friesen) behaupten, dass Friesland der schönste Platz der Welt sei. Das ist vielleicht etwas übertrieben, aber unsere Fahrt heute ist wirklich wunderbar.
We chatted with a local this morning who's now living in Rotterdam and he told us Friesland is the most beautiful place in the world. We shall see but it looks promising.
Und dabei haben wir die Provinz Friesland gerade erst betreten.

Wir erreichen Langelille gegen Mittag. Wir haben eigentlich einen ruhigen kleinen Hafen erwartet. Aber der Hafen De Driesprong ist auf Yachtcharter spezialisiert, es herrscht daher ein reges Kommen und Gehen. Alle sind in Ferienstimmung und freuen sich über ihren abgelaufenen oder bevorstehenden Törn. Und wir freuen uns, die neuen Mannschaften am Samstag im Hafen manövrieren zu sehen.
This small marina in Langelille, not yet in Friesland's lake district, charter big, immaculate cruisers to a mostly German clientele. We arrived on a Friday, when they all come in, and we expect to see them go out again on Saturday. Always fun to watch somebody else maneuvering in a harbor.
