As the Water Rat said to the Mole already in 1908, "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats …Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular."
From "The Wind in the Willows," by Kenneth Grahame.

Handgemacht
Can't buy it? Make it!
On the right, the original end plate of our port engine's heat exchanger; on the left, the replacement, which is being made in Duivendijk's workshop. The old end plate was too corroded to reuse and a new one wasn't to be found in the spares market. So they're making one. Easy. The cylinder mounted on the end plate holds a sacrificial anode, which is designed to corrode first, instead of the more expensive iron plate. Clever.
