Was zu Wasser die Boote sind, das sind in Holland zu Land die Fahrräder. Die Basisvariante ist bei beiden Gefährten dieselbe, nämlich robust und schwerfällig. Damit sind sie den hiesigen klimatischen Bedingungen - dem Wind - bestens angepasst. Doch weil die Niederländer allen Dingen einen verspielten und individuellen Touch verpassen, haben hierzulande sogar Fahrradständer eine gewisse Leichtigkeit. Seht selbst.

In the Netherlands bicycles are everywhere. Bike routes are fully integrated into the road network. And being a country with a playful sense of induviduality (as opposed with a priority on maximized performance, like, say, Swizterland), they are often personalized in amusing ways. Roll on, Holland!
