Lisa an Bord!
Elisabeth!

Lisa ist für einen Kurzbesuch gekommen! Wir haben uns seit gut anderthalb Jahren nicht mehr gesehen.

What a treat! Elisabeth hopped on a TGV in Zurich and came for a visit.
Es werden ausgiebig Neuigkeiten ausgetauscht.

It was like old times. Elisabeth and Aila were roommates for years and I joined up with them for a couple of years too, so we're really family.
Dann machen wir eine Fahrt durch Lyon, zuerst auf der Rhône und dann auf der Saône.

We set off for a tour of Lyon, both rivers. There was a lot to see.
Die Architektur im neuen Quartier La Confluence ist total verrückt. Wir gratulieren den Lyonesen zu ihrem Mut für Neues und wünschen uns, dass auch die verklemmten Zürcher mal was poppigeres als ihre Lego-Architektur zustande brächten.

Right around the harbor, the new La Confluence neighborhood is chock full of bold, clever architecture that shames the vast new housing projects in Zurich, which, despite hosting a great school of architecture, the ETH, has only managed to produce variations on a Lego theme. Lyon, in stark contrast, has created buildings with flair and fun.

The city swimming pool, on the Rhone side, is elegant and "futuristic" in a 70s way.
