As the Water Rat said to the Mole already in 1908, "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats …Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular."

From "The Wind in the Willows," by Kenneth Grahame.

Sonne tanken
Enjoying ourselves, mostly

It's what you do on a Dalmatian cruise. You hop from one storied port to the next.
Mother and daughter are enjoying their time together. And they both find Croatian wine very good indeed.

Aila was impressed by this outside steering position, giving the captain an optimal view of the mooring that you couldn't get from the bridge.
After all, 46 meters is a lot of ship. Tech note: it's powered by two 500 hp engines. Woomph!
Meanwhile, in Gent, I learned that angels can have horns.

I see this wall most mornings, in the old cloister complex that now houses the Royal Academy of Music. I can't but think of the history these bricks have seen, from Medieval to today. Neira's unimpressed. She wants Aila back onboard. Me too!
