As the Water Rat said to the Mole already in 1908, "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats …Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular."
From "The Wind in the Willows," by Kenneth Grahame.

Neira und die Fahrenden
Falling in with the carnival canines
Rouen's grand fair is going on near our harbor for another ten days. There's a big encampment of fairworkers on the next finger of land and these folks have dogs. We walked past the trailers the other day and Neira was warmly greeted by the pack. It was nice to see because she really hasn't had enough contact with other dogs. At least for another fortnight, we know were to go to remedy that deficit. We just hope she doesn't pick up any bad habits from these carny hounds ;-)
