Probefahrt
The learning curve begins

Ein knappes Jahr und eine gefühlte Ewigkeit nach unserer letzten Fahrt im März 2016 sind wir gestern erstmals wieder zu einer kleinen Tour aufgebrochen. Judihui! Das Fährtchen dauerte nur eine Stunde und diente vor allem dazu, mit unserem neuen Motor warm zu werden. Nun warten wir sehnsüchtig auf den Frühling und hoffen, unsere Reise dann endlich fortsetzen zu können.

After being grounded for nearly a year, we took our first tour together yesterday. What a great feeling. We went out into the Oosterschelde, a sizeable former estuary, now behind the storm surge barrier erected after the flood of 1953. We took turns at the helm and let me tell you, it's different with just one engine. But the beast is both powerful and obedient and I'm sure we'll get the hang of it in due course.
